Originally
the homestead for a large grazing enterprise, the Swan Reach was
first licensed in 1899. The hotel was significantly enlarged in
1912, then again during the Second World War, to cater for commercial
travellers and families seeking a quiet holiday by the river. It
has again been recently renovated to allow 21st century patrons
the pleasure of enjoying the commanding view over the River Murray
as they relax and enjoy the same solitude as previous generations.
