The Pretoria - the second hotel in Mannum - opened just prior to Christmas 1900 and was patriotically named in honour of the British occupation of the South African city of the same name during the (then current) Boer War. Located on the river side of Mannum's main street, it has survived numerous floods, the highest water mark of the famous 1956 flood being featured in the interior design of the recent extensive renovations to the hotel.
