Originally known as Bogan's Hotel, the Mannum was established in 1869 adjacent to Captain William Randell's cottage. The hotel was originally a simple single storey building tucked into the base of the limestone cliff, but progressively it was enlarged along the base of the cliff, and upwards, the second storey providing extensive accommodation, which remains a feature today.
